Clients tell us that one of the best parts about working with Lugos Travel is the moment their personalized vacation itinerary arrives. This extensive document contains everything they need for their trip – detailed instructions, walking maps, all tickets and passes, local tips and tricks, and anything else they requested or need.
Opening the itinerary is like taking a look at your own private travel guide. And it’s a product of the strong relationship we develop with you, the traveler. Before the first ticket is booked, you’ll have our full attention as you describe your vacation wish list, must-dos, and preferences. We’ll take it from there, putting in the research and work needed to make it all happen.
It’s a stress-free way to see the world, but if you haven’t worked with a professional travel planner before, you might be wondering what, exactly, it all means for you. So let’s take a look at one of the most important aspects of traveling with Lugos Travel – here’s what you can expect to find in your luxury vacation itinerary:
An overview of your upcoming travel experience
The first pages of your itinerary are dedicated to giving you a snapshot view of your entire trip. You’ll see the names of the travelers in your party, the dates, and all major stops, activities, and reserved lodging organized chronologically. Think of it as the table of contents in your personalized travel guide.
Next up, we’ll tell you how you’ll get to your destination (or your first stop, if your experience includes multiple locations). You’ll see airport transfer information, flight times, seats, class, and record locator information.
Then, if you do have additional destinations as part of your travel experience, we’ll include the same information for the various transportation modes involved (train, car, plane, ship) at the relevant days and times throughout the entire document.
When you reach your destination, you won’t waste time trying to figure out how to navigate to your hotel or resort – we’ve already arranged your transfer with an English-speaking driver, and all details (who to look for, where to find them) will be noted in the itinerary.
This pre-arrangement is especially critical when traveling to a new country for the first time. If you don’t speak the language or are unfamiliar with the airport, this part of the trip is at high risk for costly mistakes, scams, and lost time. We’ll plan everything in advance so you can avoid that trouble and whisk off to your luxury accommodations in style instead.
Because your airport arrival transfer includes a private car, the driver will know exactly where to take you. We’ve also listed out the hotel name, address, and phone number in your itinerary. You’ll see the kind of room we reserved for you, length of stay, and any other pertinent details.
Activities, Excursions, Reservations
Now that you’re settled at the hotel, it’s time to get active….or not! For each day of your itinerary you’ll see detailed information about any planned activities, excursions, restaurant reservations, or any other sightseeing arrangements you requested.
If you took a more laid-back approach, we’ll include daily suggestions for activities that could interest you, and that you can reserve or explore on your own if you wish. Or, you can ignore those suggestions and simply enjoy lounging around the resort or taking unplanned walks through the city.
Remember: our itineraries are highly personalized. Whatever style of trip you prefer will be reflected in your guide.
All tickets and passes
If your travel experience does include pre-planned sightseeing activities, we’ll also add entry tickets right to your itinerary. A small hard-bound book that contains everything you need for your trip that you will be able to take with you everywhere you go. Pre-purchasing tickets saves you time and hassle – including paperwork and the stress of keeping track of everything – as you see the sights. We will even arrange special tickets that allow you to skip long lines at museums and exhibits, or coordinate a private city tour with a knowledgeable local guide and your own transportation.
No matter what has been arranged, it will all be at your fingertips in the itinerary.
Example: A day in Italy
To give you an idea of what this looks like on paper, here is a recent itinerary for a trip to Italy. You’ll see the date noted at the bottom, with the plan and all transportation details outlined throughout. Then, we’ll include information about what you can expect during the experience as well as a reminder of the length of the event and that you’ll be accompanied by a private tour guide.
Local customs and cultural tips – plus some special touches
You’ll likely want to know a few local customs and cultural notes for all your destinations. We’ll have you covered, with useful information such as tipping conventions and site-specific dress codes. Your travel planner will also add a personalized welcome message and friendly suggestions (set an early alarm on this day, for example) to guide your experience.
Although we expect everything to go smoothly during your meticulously planned luxury trip, accidents and unforeseen events do occur. That’s why we dedicate a couple of pages to local emergency contacts such as the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consular and local 24-hour medical facilities, as well as information about any travel insurance you may have purchased.
You’ll of course have our contact information as well, and the team at Lugos Travel will remain a resource for you throughout your entire travel experience. In fact, we provide 24/7 local assistance – if you want to change a tour, add something, or delay a start time, we have you covered.
